Survey services

Rail Trans Service provides independent expert inspection of cargo, transport, equipment or storage conditions at various stages of the logistics chain.

A surveyor’s task is to give an objective assessment and provide the client with documented confirmation (a report) that can be used in disputes. During the inspection, the specialist:

• Examines the cargo: assesses its condition, quantity, quality, and the integrity of packaging and labelling, and checks it against accompanying documents.

• Monitors the process: oversees loading and unloading, checks how the cargo is placed and secured, and assesses the condition of the transport (container, vessel hold).

• Records details: makes active use of photo and video to document the condition of the cargo, seals and stages of transport.

• Carries out additional actions: takes samples for laboratory analysis, checks for the required permits and approvals, and may seal or unseal objects.

• Analyses risks and causes: if damage or discrepancies are found, the surveyor records their nature and extent and helps establish the party at fault.

The specialist concludes the work with a report. It includes a description of the object’s condition, any defects or discrepancies found, a risk analysis and, where necessary, recommendations for resolving issues. Additional specialised experts and laboratories are brought in when needed.
